Presented is a great set of 4 antique American coin silver teaspoons. These
spoons were made by Baldwin Gardiner & Co and date to circa 1814-1847. The
spoons are made in the classic Fiddle and Shell pattern, featuring fiddle head
shaped terminals on the handles with a shell design on the front as well as
above the bowl on the back.

Each spoon is stamped with the maker's mark for Baldwin Gardiner & Co, a
well known American silversmith working in Philadelphia PA and later New York,
NY. These spoons are coin (900) purity silver, nitric acid tested and
guaranteed.

This set of spoons is in excellent overall condition. One spoon has a little
cut line across the back of the stem, but this is very minor. There may have
been a monogram removal to the terminals of the handles, but if so it was done a
very long time ago and is very hard to notice. The shells on the handles and
backs of the bowls are nice and crisp. No splits, no dents, no monograms, and no
repairs.

Each teaspoon measures about 6 inches long.

The total weight for the set is 85 grams or 3.0 regular ounces.
