This pair displays a cherub in slightly different positions on each one. There is a beetle on the wide surface of each piece as well. The neck of the vase has scrolls and foliate details reminiscent of Corinthian style columns. The coloring of the vase is due to a patina coloring on the bronze. The cherubs and beetle have been gilded to display variation in bronze coloring. The marble base is a great red color. This pair doesn't have an opening all the way down, these bud vases are open until about 3 inches down. Each piece is signed by the artist; Auguste Morenau along the widest part of the vase. Morenau was a French sculpture artist working between the 1860s-1910s. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis pair is in great condition. There is slight wear to the patina along the wide edges of the vases and in small other exposed edges. Both bases seem to have places where the marble had broken off and then reattached. There are no other breaks or repairs and no other notable surface wear.
