Presented is an antique, heavy, solid sterling silver oyster or punch or soup ladle made by Gorham during the late 1800s or early 1900s. This piece is in the old Baronial pattern, which was patented in 1898. The handle is ornately designed with a lion's head at the top as well as flourishes, flowers and scrolls. The front of the handle has an old, original monogram of the initials GJP.

The back is marked for Gorham, sterling and patent 1898.

This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is only very minor surface wear commensurate with age and use.
