Antique Skonvirke Art Nouveau Danish Silver Amber Pin Brooch Grann Laglye

Presented is a fantastic quality silver and amber pin or brooch. This piece dates to the early 1900s, and was made by Grann & Laglye of Denmark. This company was established in 1906, and this hallmark used is from the first 15 years of their business. The pin is done in an elegant, flowing style, very similar in style to older Georg Jensen work. The top portion of the pin is set with an oval cabochon of rich orange amber. From the bottom hangs a silver drop, with decorative swirled designs. The back of the pin has an old C style clasp.

This piece is in great condition. The clasp functions well and closes securely. The amber is securely set, with a good smooth surface. There are no breaks and no repairs.

The back of the pin is stamped with a Danish hallmark of 830 S, for the purity of the silver, as well as the maker's marks for Grann & Laglye. All three of these stamps are repeated on the drop/dangle portion of the pin as well.

The pin is about 2 3/4 inches long and measures about 2 1/8 inches from side to side.

This piece weighs 13.8 grams.
