Antique Silvery Oval-Shaped Pin Set w/ 3 Tiers of Red Garnets, from Austria?

Presented is a stunning old pin/pendant made of genuine red garnets.

We do not believe the silvery-looking metal to be actual silver.

This pin dates from circa the 1860s to 1900 and was most likely made in Austria.

The richness of the pin is owed to the 4 tiers of luscious red garnets!

I like the look of the accent garnets with the larger stones.

This piece can be worn as a pin, or, use the bale on the reverse side to wear it as a pendant. 

This pin is in great condition.  There is only one tiny accent garnet missing, but it is not visible at all except when the pin is being scrutinized up close.  The catch on the clasp has been replaced.
