Presented is a fabulous quality, solid sterling centerpiece or fruit bowl made by Frank Smith during the late 1800s or early 1900s. The rim has an applied sterling silver band of cast grape, leaf and flourish decoration. The bowl is raised on 4 claw or paw form feet. The dish has never been monogrammed.
The underside is marked for Frank Smith, sterling silver purity and a retailer's mark for S.C & L Company.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are a couple of very tiny dings to the bottom, but this is hardly noticeable.
The bowl measures 13 1/2 by 11 inches and is 2 3/4 inches tall.
Weight: 933 grams.
