Antique Art Nouveau Whiting Lily of the Valley 1885 Sugar Shell Serving Spoon
Presented is an antique, sterling silver sugar shell or jam serving spoon made by Whiting during the late 19th century. This piece is in the Lily of the Valley pattern, which was patented in 1885 and it is old, original production. The front of the handle is decorated with raised lily of the valley flowers and the back of the handle has an old monogram of the name Carrie. The bowl has a gold wash.
The back is marked for Whiting, S. Hyman & Co (the retailer) and sterling silver purity.
This piece is in great overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is some minor wear to the gold wash on the bowl, but there are no damages or repairs.
