Presented is a great and huge American coin silver serving spoon or platter spoon by the New York City makers, Alcock & Allen. This huge spoon is done in a classic pattern of leaves and scrolls with a crest on the tip of the handle in the form of a modified fleur de lis. The spoon is monogrammed on the back of the handle with MALR in Gothic script.
The spoon is hallmarked on the reverse with Alcock & Allen for the maker and Pat. 1847. We have tested this piece and guarantee it to be coin silver.
The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The spoon is 13 1/4 inches long.
