Presented is a large Swedish silver serving spoon. This piece dates to 1809. The spoon is done in a simple, classic form, with a thread design around the edge. The back of the handle has a monogram of G.L.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The stem of the spoon is hallmarked with the Swedish national triple crown mark, the date symbol C3 for 1809, a maker's mark of Herpel, and what is probably a city mark.
The spoon is about 11 1/4 inches long.
The spoon weighs 131.6 grams or 4.6 regular ounces.
