8 Antique Mint Sterling Silver Whiting Arabesque 1875 Gilt Bowl Demitasse Spoons

Presented is an antique set of 8 sterling silver demitasse coffee spoons made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company during the last quarter of the 19th century. This set is done in the Arabesque pattern, which was patented in 1875 and these are old, original production. Each handle is finely decorated with a Griffin or dragon surrounded by swirling designs. The front of each handle has a monogram of the letter P done in a Gothic script. Each bowl has a matte finish and a light gold wash. All of the detail is very crisp, mint condition. 

The back of each spoon is marked for Whiting, patent 1875 and sterling silver purity. 

This set is in excellent condition and the designs are crisp.
