19th Century English Silverplate Inkwell Stand Desk Piece 2 Inkwells 8 1/2" Long

Presented is a nice silver-plated inkwell desk stand piece likely from the turn of the century, circa 1880 to 1910, but possibly much earlier. This piece displays 4 ball feet and a cast shell that is used as a handle to lift the lid. Inside there are two glass inkwells with silver tops and a center compartment. The lid has a crest of a stag similar to the family crest for the Bridgewater Clan. The crest is engraved on a silver insert. This piece might be early-1800s Old Sheffield Plate, but it is difficult to date. The stand is well-constructed and is in great overall condition. The hinge is smooth and works well. There are no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. Measurements: 8 1/2 inches long, 4 1/4 inches wide, and 2 1/8 inches tall -kc
