Presented is a lovely English sterling silver fish slice or fish server. This piece was made by William Eaton and dates to 1837. The fish slice is done in a classical Fiddle type pattern, with a fiddlehead shaped handle and distinctive shoulders above the blade. The blade is beautifully pierced with an intricate design of stars and stylized fans or shells. The fish slice has a monogram of W on the handle, in Gothic script.

This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter B for 1837, King William IV's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for William Eaton.

This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This server is about 11 1/2 inches long.

This piece weighs 139 grams or 4.9 regular ounces.
