Presented is a fine set of 12 silver teaspoons. These spoons date to around the 1850s and are probably of German make, possibly Austrian. The spoons have a classic Fiddle Thread design. The spoons have a rich gold wash over the entirety of their surface. Each spoon is monogrammed on the back of the handle with A in Gothic script.
These spoons are in excellent overall condition. The gold wash is in great shape. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Eleven of the spoons are hallmarked on the back of the bowl with a 13 loth mark for 812 purity silver, and a maker's mark of J.H, while the remaining spoon has the same hallmarks on the stem.
Each spoon is about 6 1/8 inches long.
The set weighs 337 grams or 11.9 regular ounces.
