Presented is an antique leather wallet or small billfold, presumably from Canada, dating to the late 1800s. The wallet is brown leather with a ridged design and some gild detailing, with a little brass snap closure. Inside the wallet is a Canadian 1 penny bank token, dated 1837 and produced by the City Bank of Montreal, a one cent coin dated 1876, and a Canadian 5 cent coin dated 1872. We are not numismatic experts by any means, so apologies if these could be identified better.
The wallet is being sold in 'as is' condition, with wear to the leather exterior and the interior lining. The clasp works well but the hole in the flap that the clasp snaps through has a tear. The large 'One Penny' coin is in great condition, nice and crisp on both sides. The medium “One Cent” coin is also quite crisp, but has a little rough spot to one edge. The half dime is worn and noticeably thinned but still identifiable.
The wallet measures about 3 5/8 by 2 1/4 inches, LxW.
