Presented is a fabulous 226 piece sterling silver flatware set by Danish silver maker Frigast. This set is done in the classic Danish Crown pattern and dates to around 1950. This impressive set provides service for 11, with extra pieces for some settings and plenty of serving utensils. The pieces are all sturdy and well made, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand.

The set consists of:

  •     11 dinner forks--8 inches long.
  •     11 dinner knives--10 inches long.
  •     11 luncheon forks--7 inches long.
  •     12 luncheon knives--8 1/2 inches long.
  •     12 fish forks--6 7/8 inches long.
  •     12 fish knives--8 7/8 inches long.
  •     12 salad forks--7 3/4 inches long.
  •     13 round soup spoons--6 3/4 inches long.
  •     43 teaspoons--5 7/8 inches long.
  •     12 grapefruit/orange spoons--6 inches long.

Each piece is stamped with the Frigast maker's mark as well as sterling and Denmark.

The set is in great condition. There are no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The weight of the set, not including the dinner and luncheon knives and the cheese planer because of their stainless steel blades, is 8753.5 grams or 308.8 regular ounces. We estimate that the handles have about 1 ounce of sterling silver each, on the dinner and luncheon knives and the cheese planer. The total weight, including this estimate for the handles, is about 333.8 regular ounces.
