Fine Birks Sterling Silver Openwork Rim Tazza Footed Bowl Compote

Presented is a lovely sterling silver low tazza or footed bowl. This piece was made by Birks, a Canadian silver maker, and dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The bowl is done in a round form, with a beautifully pierced openwork border of thistles and foliate scrollwork vines. The openwork is very well done, with finely hand engraved detailing and texturing.

This piece is stamped on the underside with sterling and the maker's mark for Birks.

This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The bowl measures about 10 1/8 inches in diameter and stands about 2 ½ inches tall.

The bowl weighs 525 grams or 18.5 regular ounces.
