Presented is a lovely German silver pierced basket. This piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s and is likely the work of Storck & Sinsheimer. The dish features a charming genre scene in the center, depicting a musician playing for a courting couple. The sides of the basket are done in a pierced quatrefoil design, with applied decoration in the form of floral swags, garlands, and ram's head masks. The piece is very well made and the decoration is all very nicely detailed.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped with Hanau German pseudo-hallmarks, likely the mark for Storck & Sinsheimer. We guarantee this bowl to be 800-900 purity silver.
The dish measures about 9 ½ by 4 ¾ by 1 7/8 inches, LxWxH.
