Presented is a fine sterling silver server made by Gorham Manufacturing Company. This flat server could be used for serving tomatoes, waffles, flapjacks, buckwheat cakes or a variety of other items. The server is done in the Villa Norfolk pattern also known as Norfolk which was first produced in 1904. The server is engraved with a C monogram in Gothic script.
The server is marked on the reverse with Gorham’s old company hallmarks, Sterling, and Smith, Patterson Co. for the retailer.
The server has surface wear commensurate with age and light use as well as numerous dings, particularly to the blade. The server is still perfectly useable. There are no splits, no breaks and no repairs.
The server is 7 3/4 inches long.
The weight is 72.4 grams or 2.5 ounces.
