Presented is a nice sterling silver cheese scoop by Dominick & Haff. This piece is done very much in the Aesthetic Movement of the 1880s, and dates to that time period as well. The handle of the scoop is done in an attractive twist style half of the way up the shaft, where it changes to an eye-catching geometric design. The blade of the scoop has a nice gold wash.
This piece is in great condition. The handle has no bends or breaks. The gold wash on the scoop is somewhat worn, but is nice and uniform rather than patchy or uneven. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The cheese scoop is hallmarked with the maker's mark for Dominick & Haff as well as 'sterling'.
The scoop is about 8 3/8 inches long.
This piece weighs 77.3 grams or 2.7 regular ounces.
