Presented is an antique pair of American coin silver  ice tongs made by William Gale and Son of New York in 1852. This Victorian, mid 19th century piece is done in a classic Fiddle Thread form and the handles or legs are done in a threaded pattern. The feet are done in the form of detailed talons and there is an old, original monogram of the name Fearn at the top of the piece.

The inside of one leg is marked for William Gale & Son and 1852. Tested and guaranteed to be at least 900 purity silver.

This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. There appears to be a small touch, solder repair to each foot where it meets the leg, but this is only noticeable upon close inspection and the repair does not go through the leg to the inside.

Length: 6 7/16 inches.

Weight: 85 grams.
