Presented is a great English Georgian sterling silver gravy or sauce serving ladle. This ladle dates to 1828 and was made by Phillip Phillips. The ladle is done in a classical Fiddle pattern, with a fiddlehead shaped terminal and distinct shoulders above the bowl. The ladle has a relatively deep oval shaped bowl and an arched handle.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter n for 1828, King George IV's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Phillip Phillips.
The ladle is about 6 3/4 inches long.
This piece weighs 43 grams or 1.5 regular ounces.
